The Cows Go Moo! was created by Jim Petipas, an author, illustrator, songwriter, musician, and counselor with a passion for creativity, storytelling, music, and bringing families together. Jim is also the founder of Boardwalk Books Publishing.

What inspired The Cows Go Moo!?
The Cows Go Moo! has its roots in a silly song Jim performed with his brother and friends back in the 1980s. What began as a little musical fun eventually grew into a world of colorful characters, books, and music.
Along the way, Jim's daughters, Olivia and Sophia, have been wonderful sources of inspiration. They both said, "Dad you should turn that silly song into a children's picture book!" So thats what he did! They have also contributed creative ideas, suggestions, and plenty of encouragement. It's been a family-inspired adventure!
Does Jim write music, too?
Absolutely! Music has always been a big part of Jim's life. He's a lifelong drummer, songwriter, and member of the Boston-area band Broken Daisies. Music and storytelling naturally come together in The Cows Go Moo!, where the characters have a rhythm all their own.
Where does Jim get his ideas?
Just about everywhere! A funny thought, a conversation, a musical idea, or something completely unexpected can spark a new story. Some of the best ideas come from family brainstorming sessions. And sometimes, all it takes is asking, "What if?"
